Meet the Photographer
Hi, I’m Chelsea.
I’m a portrait and boudoir photographer based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and I also work regularly in Saskatoon and throughout the province. I’ve been photographing people and places since 2010.
I grew up in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, and first got into photography by capturing the landscapes of the Qu’Appelle Valley. Over the years, I’ve photographed a little bit of everything: portraits, couples, boudoir, events, architecture, nightlife, and more. Some of my architecture and nightlife work has also been published in magazines.
Eventually, photographing people became the part I cared about most. I love working with people who might not normally feel comfortable in front of a camera, helping them see their intimate and genuine selves.

Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all. I love guiding people through posing, and boudoir has really helped me strengthen that skill over the years. You can expect me to help with all the little details like where to place your hands and how to shift your posture, while reminding you to relax and take a deep breath when you need to. Every body is different and has its own strengths, and I love figuring out what works best for each person rather than using the exact same poses for everyone.

What are your sessions like?
I try to keep things relaxed and low pressure. We can talk, move around, try things, change our minds, and take breaks when needed. I want the session to feel collaborative rather than like you’re being told where and how to stand for an hour straight. I also love when clients recommend music playlists! Expect to laugh a lot, it is the best medicine, and it makes for the best photos. :)

What are you like outside of photography?
I’m a huge video game and anime person, I drink a lot of coffee, and I’m usually studying or working on a paper for university. I also spend a totally reasonable amount of time with my cats in my old character home that my partner and I pour all of our love into.

What do you love most about photography?
For me, it’s always been about noticing things other people might overlook. I love catching little expressions, details, and moments that make someone look like themselves rather than just creating a technically perfect photo. That’s probably why portraits and boudoir ended up becoming such a big part of what I do. I also love the retouching process. When I'm editing, you can find me at my PC in my office, listening to One Direction, and crying at how beautiful my clients are!
